Why are your rates higher than some other therapists?
Although the rates of Alpine Connection might be a bit higher than other therapists, we are convinced that over time, we actually end up saving you money. Our approach is dedicated to helping your teen become self-sufficient and have the experience, success history, and expertise to accomplish this in the most efficient way possible.
Do you take insurance?
Currently we do not accept insurance. Because we are private pay based, payments for services can be made in either cash, check, or credit card. However, if your insurance policy covers out of network providers of your choice, then Christian T. Hill, MA can provide the appropriate paperwork validating completion of services and any diagnostic and procedure codes required.
What questions do I ask my insurance provider?
If you intend to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider, the following questions may aid you in the process.
•Do I have mental health benefits?
•Do I have a deductible for out-of-network coverage and how much is it?
•What percentage of out-of-network charges are reimbursed once the deductible has been met?
•How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
•How do I obtain reimbursement for therapy with an out-of-network provider?
•Is a referral required from my primary care physician?
Do you offer discounts on a sliding scale?
If you do not have insurance or if you choose not to use insurance because of a high deductible, you may qualify for a Sliding Scale Discount. Discounts are available for those with lower incomes who are seeking individual therapy and can make a daytime appointment before 4pm. Please be aware that discounted (sliding scale) payments cannot by law be combined with insurance submissions or applied to a deductible
How do you handle confidentiality?
Christian believes that he is most valuable to the parent if he has complete confidentiality with the teen. A few exceptions. These exceptions include immanent harm to self or others, abuse, or grave-disability. If there is an area of concern that I believe the parent needs to know about, I will work with the client to discuss an agreeable compromise to communicate information together to the parent.
How can I know as a parent if we are making progress?
Although Christian cannot disclose to a parent specific details of a teen's private session, he recognizes the need and value for the parent(s) to feel connected to the counseling process and to receive feedback. This important need can be addressed by either email, phone, or setting up an individual appointment.
How many sessions will it take?
How ''ready'' your son or daughter is to change determines the length of therapy. Sessions can range from 2-3 individual sessions to several months or longer.
Typically within the first 2-3 sessions we determine what issues require the most immediate attention, an immediate plan on how to address those issues, in addition to a long-term treatment plan and goals.
What if my child is resistant to therapy?
